We were drawing on a rainy morning earlier this week and my art collaborator drew this guy. He says it is a happy monster guy with wheelie feet. I've had a 3T shirt I got on sale awhile back that has been waiting for something fun...What better critter to put on a shirt?
First we had to trace the drawing to make a pattern for the felt. I showed him how you can hold a drawing up to a window during the daytime and use it as a lightbox to trace a copy.
Tada! I sewed the felt pieces together,embroidered in his smile, and then attached him to the shirt.
I tried to show some of the sketchy doodle drawing lines he had in his drawing. The line on the top is hair and the blue thing is his ear. The line on the side is an arm and the line on the bottom over his wheelie feet is his other arm. Well when you are a monster guy you can have arms anywhere you want! I'll have to get a picture of him wearing it next week :)
So cute! A certain 3-year-old I know is going to love it.
