Stick Figure Worm
I fell asleep watching television and didn't have a critter done. My husband keeps suggesting I should make a stick figure worm if I'm running short on Critter Making Time, so here is that worm :) I made the background with an app on my phone called Tripping Fest that makes kaleidoscope drawings.

Smeepins Crashes the Royal Wedding
Fool in a Tree suggested yesterday that Smeepins should be a royal wedding crasher. So he put on his best top hat and wee bow tie and flew across the ocean. When he got there, the bobbies wouldn't let him into the ceremony so he snuck into the reception and climbed the cake.
I found a picture of the actual cake William and Catherine had today to base this drawing on. It was a big fruit cake NOM om NOM. Smeepins didn't bring me back a piece. Booo!

Smeepzilla
This Smeepins represents my mood from 2pm to right now. The second half of the day took a boat ride on the failboat to Itsucksville. I was all rawrrr stomp grahhh crap stomp rawrrrhhhh arrrgghhh agggg rawwwwwr. And then I knocked over some buildings and ate a bus.
I'm guessing it is "Inadvertant Smeepins Week" which is fine by me cause I like him. I'll do another Smeepins post tomorrow. Any requests for scenes or outfits?

Smeepins
This morning, I got out a piece of felt and scissors and just started cutting. I figured something cute would show up somehow. I haven't made much without making a pattern, even just sketching something on printer paper first.
It's Smeepins, the egg-shaped bear. He enjoys climbing a hosta or two and eating leftover jellybeans.
I make a lot of my critters with my box of felt, sewing box, and tub o' thread sitting next to me on the couch. I was making Smeepins while sitting on the edge of my seat watching the newest episode of Doctor Who. I think that is why he looks concerned yet vaguely hopeful. And inevitably, there is a cat helper at some point doing it's best to be a pester-nugget. Hi Neo, pester-nugget!

Easter Eggs
It's that time of the year to smell the vinegary scent, see the cups of vibrant fizzy liquid, and draw with clear crayons on the homes of baby chicks!
My sister and I decorated eggs tonight using red, yellow, green, blue, and purple tablets.
Slightly unrecognizable Domo Egg heh! I had some trouble drawing to a photographable scale. Curvy eggs are curvy yo!
Eggs! I love hard boiled eggs and getting a chance to make them colorful and stickery for the first time in a few years was great! Thanks Roxy!

Taquito Doodles
I think training is almost complete at my new job. It's a temp job through beginning of June but it'll help fund some more purchases of felt and Nutella. I told my new Flickr friend, Amanda, that I'd draw her precious pug-chihuaua Taquito. Is he a Pugihuahua? A Chug? A squeezable love muffin of delight?
I was thinking of this photo of him when I drew the following doodle and then fashioned a fuzzy doodle replica of him. I was doodling from memory so I think I captured some of his cute essence. I need to sit down with colored pencils and really draw a nice portrait of him.
The Piglet's name is....
Perpetua the Prettiest Piggy ever!
Random.org picked Fool In a Tree's comment this morning. I think she is a very very pretty piggy so I agree with the name :)
I enjoyed reading all your name suggestions and like that many of them had cute alliteration - Pipsy, Peony, Posey, Pinky, Phoebe, Petula :) Zza Zza GaBoar cracked me up and Shrogg T'Golooh, Destroyer of Worlds was just disturbingly amusing heh. I am going to do another giveaway like this next month so check back!

Fwingerfly!
I was wearing a few pipe cleaners as a bracelet today. So chic! I took them apart at my desk and wrapped them around a pen. I thought "What possible critter could this be?", since I knew I'd be at work until 11pm and forgot my drawing supplies at home.
Then I squished the spring which went FWING! across my desk. Chop the other pipe cleaner in half, fashion two butterfly wings, attach - Fwingerfly! If you scootch the fwingerfly up towards the top of the pen, you can fwing it with one hand. I have to get a video of it flying at the cats....

Hi readers of Scissor Quirk, TYWKIWDBI, and my regular viewing audience :) I hope you checked out other critters I have made so far this year. Right now it is Giveaway Time! I made this felt piglet tonight just for you!
How to Win
1. What would you name this pretty piglet? Post a comment here with her name.
2. You have until 11pm Central time on Wednesday, April 20th to comment.
3. I'll chose one comment at random to win the piglet at 8am CST Thursday, April 21st.

Phoebe the Doodle Budz
This "Doodle Budz" cat is Phoebe, my friend Nikki's cat. Phoebe is cuddly but selective in who she lets cuddle her. I got to pet her today a few times and she didn't hiss Yay!
I think I got her likeness pretty well with a few markers. I start a new job tomorrow morning, so I didn't have time to let the Sharpies dry or use paint instead. Shiny scribbly doodle kitty :)

Southeastern Five-lined Skink
My friend Heather and her daughter found a skink in their backyard last year. It was hanging out in their puggle's water dish. See his cute picture below. I'm glad their dog didn't slurp up the skink! I sketched this skink with pencil and Sharpies tonight. I remembered the skink today when I noticed the blues of my sharpies were close to skink tail color. I want a pet skink now!

Origami Stripey Cat
I had a busy day with work, a 2nd job interview for a new job, and then a free sneak peek screening of the new Kristen Wiig movie "Bridesmaids". Work this morning was really fun! The 2nd job interview went well and they asked me back for a 3rd interview on Thursday! And the movie preview was AWESOME! So so so hilarious. I laughed the first 30 minutes of the movie straight and completely lost it multiple times later in the movie - I snorted! And dropped my Pop Rocks on my shirt! And used too many exclamation points! I loved it. So crazy and silly and heartwarming in parts. I recommend it!
Anywhoooooo - Since I was so busy today I came home to make a quick Origami cat from these instructions with printer paper and a marker doodle face. Marker doodle face of cute :)

Piglet II
It is Piglet Weekend! Yesterday I had an idea for sewing on the piglet's head a different and easier way, so I made another one tonight to try it.
I sewed a tab of felt into the base of the head after stuffing it. Then I tucked that tab into the dress and sewed the head on through the "neck" of felt. It worked out perfectly! I had fun changing up the face on this piglet too.

Piglet Climbs a Tree
Little piglet ventured out into the backyard to climb the biggest tree she could find.
"This tree is huge-normous! It's perfect!"
She tried so hard to grip onto the bark with her wee feet. She climbed 3 whole inches up before she remembered she was wearing her brand new dress. She jumped down and twirled around in the grass.
"The squirrels make this look so much easier! I think I'll go have some tea and watch them climb instead."
She went inside and made tea and crumpets. The squirrels smelled the delicious crumpets and traded her climbing lessons for a tasty snack.
The End.

Punchy and ZuZu, the Robot Sock Bunnies
My sister is in town and I showed her how to make a sock bunny. I found these awesome robot ankle socks in the $1 bins at Target! It only took about an hour to show her how to make the bunny start to finish!
My sister made Punchy, on the left, with the cute smirk. Punchy is up to no good! I made ZuZu, on the right, with her tongue sticking out. I really like how the robots lined up on the ears. They have robo-bellies!

Dippy, the Fingertip Puppet Sheep
Meet Dippy - the tiniest little fingertip sheep. Whoa, someone fuzzy and purring is hovering over him...halp!
This is supposed to be what the sheep looks like. The pattern is from Aranzi Aronzo - Cuter Book. I didn't have googly eyes on hand and he turned out way way tinier than I expected. Dippy and cute hahahaha.
