Okapi in the Sunshine

Okapi Sunshine
I'm going back through years of photos I've taken and making computer wallpapers for you to use. I took this photo in November 2006 at the Brookfield Zoo. It is one of my favorite photos I've taken.

Resting Tiger

Big Cat Wallpaper
I'm going back through years of photos I've taken and making computer wallpaper of them for you to use. I took this photo at the St Louis Zoo in 2009 during March. The weather was really nice and there were a lot of animals out. This is an adolescent tiger, one of 5 or 6 that were born in the zoo and running around the enclosure together.

Click on the image or click here to get different sizes to apply to your computer :) I tend to take huge photos when I'm at zoos and such so I hope it looks nice. I am going to make quite a few to get caught up.

Slight delay

I'm having some unexpected health problems and there will be a delay in this past weekend's posting. I hope to catch up tomorrow.
Thank you for your patience. I hope people will still check back to see what I've made recently.

Graphic Chameleon

Chameleon

And now draws to a close my Graphic Animal series for now. I figured a chameleon would be a good way to finish things up since they definitely blend into the patterns they sit on. Thanks for the suggestion, Desiree!

Graphic Honey Badger

Honey badger
I was at the doctor on Thursday and Friday getting poked and prodded and blood tests and all that jazz. Still waiting for word from them why I feel so crappy. So, this weekend I just did a few things around the house, saw a movie, and rested a lot.

I drew a bunch more patterned backgrounds and then wasn't sure what critters to draw. My friend Karrey suggested a Honey Badger. This is my attempt at a mean mean honey badger. Apparently honey badger don't care. And they don't let people mess with them too. I think they are supposedly bad to the bone.

A little more color than whitespace on this one I think. Someone requested me to make a panda this time :)

Graphic Bear

Grawr
Drawing repeating shapes while watching TV is really relaxing. Especially when you have the markers lined up in color order and can make rainbow patterns.

Multicolored Hamster

Hamster

I had a big scratch on my glasses so I had new lenses put in today - yay warranty yay! Now my glasses are all tightened up and the lenses are all shiny and I feel like I have new glasses again. Which means I'm walking around feeling kinda odd and how everything looks kinda funky. That New-Glasses-Feeling, if you know what I mean.

So, I went low-key for tonight's post and I doodled a little brightly colored hamster today. I do plan to make more stuffed animals and embroidery now that I have some more time. That'll be this weekend. And I have two requested critters in the pipeline too :)

Toad Triptych

toadtriptych
This morning I traipsed outside to see if the lawn was dry enough for mowing. I walked to the side yard and look who hopped onto my shoe!

I named him Sergio. I put him on the lid of the recycling container while I ran inside to get my camera. He posed nicely for a few minutes before hopping off into the dewy grass.

This photo collage is really large so please click and view it on Flickr original size for maximum cuteness.

Additional Paper Zoo Denizens

More Zoo Cut outs
I was told today we needed two more zoo friends. First, the black and white pig with it's four legs and no arms - my three year old art collaborator was adamant that the pig had no arms.

And then a robot. Apparently this is a progressive futuristic zoo :)

Paper Zoo

Zoo cutouts
My three-year old art collaborator requested I draw some animals we can cut out. He is fascinated with cutting up paper lately. We made a paper zoo starting with a giraffe and flamingo. Then came along the purple hippo and green dolphin. I made the blue fish for the dolphin to eat. I suggested the flamingos could eat fish but he insisted flamingos eat grass. Lastly there is a flying bird and a shark.

The World Needs More Turtles II - Turtle Boogaloo

Cuteface turtle
I had fun drawing a turtle the other day so I googled some turtle drawing tutorials. I need to get my creativity re-flowing. It helps to have a tutorial and then change a few things.

Cuteface face
I found this one had a quite appealing face.

Here's another turtle, Paul!

The World Needs More Turtles

Sneaker Turtle
Tonight, my friend Paul told me that the world needs more turtles. Always. I think he is wise.

I don't know why this turtle is wearing little red sneakers - maybe he's going for a veryyy sloowwww joggggg.

Happy Birthday Hedgehog
Happiest birthday hedgehog to Heather Hammer! She requested a baby hedgehog today and since I'm out and about, I drew it on the hotel stationary/note paper :)

Geepers from Pet Society

Geepers
I play a game on Facebook called Pet Society. It's the 3 year anniversary of the game this week. They are celebrating with all sorts of prizes and stuff this week. You get to make a little critter and dress it up, decorate a house, make it go fishing and things.
Geepers
You can change colors and facial features of your pet so this is just what Geepers has looked like for the last week or so.

Capybara Portrait

Capybara
A Capybara for Kriss.
It is not wearing a crimson cape but it is completely capybara-tastic, I think.

One last time with the Model Cats

Whaaaat?
This was the very last model cat collage I made this week. I laughed so hard making it.

Bwah?
I found these cat heads in Cat Fancy magazine. This cat looks mid-sneeze pissy confused heh heh.

OMG!
And this cat was from some litter box add but I imagine it was all OMG!

This week has been so so rotten and I'm glad it is over. I want to have a fun week this upcoming week. At least I have a mini-vacation to look forward to.

Well this is weird.....

Spork Puppy
Me: Today stinks. I have no clue what to make. What should I make?
Husband: A spork with ears.
Me: Okay!
Husband: Really? That's what you are drawing?
Me: You said to!

Bonus Post: Reverse Buggy Design-A-Mug

Reverse Butterfly Design-A-Mug

The Sharpies I used tonight bled through to the back of the insert. I really like how it looks like a mini mural or a painting. I double-love my favorite blue flower and maroony orange butterfly here.

Buggy Design-A-Mug

Butterfly Design-A-Mug
Design-A-Bug? It's the last insert for my Design-A-Mug. Lots of fun for less than 80 cents, eh?

Butterfly Design-A-Mug
There are 4 butterflies and 2 ladybugs here and 40 billion flowers. At least it seemed that many as I got tired of coloring them in.

Butterfly Design-A-Mug
I like the blue flower here and this maroony orange butterfly the best.

Ladyboooog!
